Nothing seems simple any more

In the old days (ie, 3 years ago), you’d spot a car you like, watch some Youtube reviews, read about it, email a dealership it, kick tyres and place an order. A month later, you’d collect it.

In the old days (ie, 3 years ago), you’d spot a house you like, research the neighbourhood, email or call the estate agent, view it, put yours up for sale and wait. Two months later, you’d move.

Now, I won’t labour this with more purchasing and temporal metaphors, but, having tried to buy a car and sell a house lately, I must admit to being totally pissed off with the processes in each.

I know all the factors are real – Brexit, Coronavirus, the war in Ukraine – but how long will this shitfest of inertia continue? Not just for me – but for others who are trying to buy a car or move house.

God only knows.

Any answers?
